Requirements
With the construction of the new Festhalle Bern, BERNEXPO realized an ambitious large-scale project requiring state-of-the-art event technology and a comprehensive communication concept. The goal was to create a flexible, reliable, and high-performance technical infrastructure that meets the high demands of congresses, trade fairs, and events of all sizes. Digital signage played a central role, particularly for wayfinding, advertising, information, and gastronomic communication.
Implementation
The implementation of the technical equipment for Festhalle Bern was carried out in close collaboration with our partner Kilchenmann. This included the installation of a building-wide evacuation system with around 240 loudspeakers, a state-of-the-art audio and lighting control system, and impressive LED technology. Highlights include a permanently installed 150 m² LED wall in the CUBE event hall – the largest of its kind in a public Swiss congress center – as well as motorized and rotating LED walls in the DECK breakout area. The setup is completed by professional lighting control, flexible network solutions, and mobile sound systems.
easescreen at Festhalle Bern
easescreen is a central element of the digital signage system at Festhalle Bern. More than 80 displays manage a wide range of applications, including wayfinding, event information, advertising messages, and gastronomic offers. Additionally, door signage for seven meeting rooms and eight extra screens in the VIP area were installed and connected via the IPMX system. The centralized control of all content ensures maximum flexibility and provides professional visitor guidance and communication – perfectly tailored to the dynamic demands of a modern event environment.
About Festhalle Bern
Since 2024, the event hall has expanded the diverse range of venues offered by the BERNEXPO Group, one of the largest event operators in Switzerland. Covering more than 21,300 m², the new congress and event building offers flexible spaces for concerts, congresses, corporate events, and much more. BERNEXPO organizes over 30 own and guest trade fairs as well as more than 300 congresses and events annually, employing around 150 people. With this new construction project, Festhalle Bern strengthens Bern’s position as a major event and congress destination and creates lasting experiences for visitors from across Switzerland and beyond.
