Requirements
The Swiss Southeastern Railway (Schweizerische Südostbahn, SOB), a leading railway company in Eastern and Central Switzerland, operates well-known routes such as the Voralpen-Express. As part of the “Digital Railway Access” project, SOB decided to comprehensively modernize its customer information systems. The goal was to update departure monitors, destination displays, and smart information displays to provide passengers with contemporary and efficient information services.
Implementation
For the technical implementation of the digital signage frontend systems, SOB collaborated closely with our partner Kilchenmann. Kilchenmann handled the media technology planning, system programming, and procurement of necessary licenses for the screen management system. The integration included the placement of departure monitors in central and highly visible locations, the installation of overhead destination displays on the platforms, and the implementation of smart information displays that provide interactive passenger information.

The implementation of easescreen significantly improved SOB’s information systems. The departure monitors provide passengers with precise and up-to-date departure times at strategically placed locations. The overhead destination displays inform about the next train departures and directions, while the smart information displays offer passengers interactive and comprehensive information. These displays, located on platforms and in central station areas, ensure optimized passenger information and increase traveler satisfaction.
